UN-Habitat dedicates the month of October to focusing conversations about the challenges and opportunities created by the great changes in our cities and towns. Each October, everyone interested in sustainable urbanization from national and local governments to universities, NGOs and communities is encouraged to hold or participate in activities, events, and discussions.
GIZ contributes to Urban October with several events. Also the third event of our webinar series on “Local Climate Leadership in times of COVID-19”, with contributions from local leaders from Mexico and Georgia, will be part of the Urban October schedule on Monday, 5 October.

The month ends with World Cities Day on 31 October, this year under the theme of “Better City, Better Life: Valuing our communities and cities.” For more information on the UN-Habitat initiative click here.
