Every three years, ICLEI and a member city of the network host the ICLEI World Congress to showcase how cities, towns and regions across our network are advancing sustainable urban development worldwide.

Malmö, Sweden, as an ambassador city for urban sustainability hosts the congress in 2021, but all events will take place virtually this year due to the ongoing pandemic. The congress is geared mainly towards representatives from local and regional governments, but the solutions and conclusions discussed are relevant for all policy makers in contact with urban areas. The program will feature networking events as well as high-level segments.
