Stronger Together – The Role of Multi-Level Collaboration in Driving Climate Action
In the context of the November 2020 Race to Zero Dialogues, the Global Covenant of Mayors and various collaborating institutions will be hosting a webinar on Wednesday, 18 November at16:15 CET.
Actions by Non-Party Stakeholders including cities, states, businesses and other institutions are critical for addressing climate change at the scale and speed required. In some countries and geographies, these actors are coming together in the form of new, innovative alliances to pursue ambitious climate action. Together they show new leadership, set targets, enact policies and roll out solutions. Linking these up to commitments and national government policies can bring them to scale and create a virtuous circle for greater climate ambition.
This session will highlight how these multi-stakeholder alliances are driving collaboration and commitment in regions as diverse as Europe, Asia, North America, Africa and Latin America. This session will also discuss how the actions of subnational governments and non-state actors can be better factored into NDCs.
