“How can different instruments for multi-level climate governance support the realisation of local climate mitigation and adaptation potentials?” is the central question of the Multi-Level Climate Governance study published by the GIZ-project Climate Policy Meets Urban Development.

The study delivers approaches for delimiting and understanding multi-level climate governance, offers insights into multi-level climate governance instruments and showcases practical experiences through case studies from different countries.

The study bridges the gap between climate governance requirements and practical implementation under real life conditions. It shows levers as well as pitfalls on the way to successful multi-level cooperation.
